FAST

The FHIR at Scale Taskforce (FAST) community has been at the forefront of shaping the future of healthcare interoperability. By working closely with the FHIR community and other FHIR Accelerators, FAST is building the framework for a robust FHIR infrastructure that supports the scalability of FHIR solutions across the healthcare ecosystem. Today, we are excited to announce an important leadership transition as we continue this vital work.

Dana-Marcelonis-1A New Opportunity for Dana Marcelonis

Dana Marcelonis, who has been a cornerstone of FAST as our Program Manager, will be transitioning to a new role at Point-of-Care Partners, where she will provide program support for the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) project. Dana’s expertise, dedication, and leadership have been instrumental in guiding FAST’s efforts, and her impact on our work cannot be overstated. While Dana managed both roles admirably, the increasing demands of these projects have made it necessary to have a dedicated resource for each. Dana will continue to support Janice and the team through November to ensure a smooth transition.

Welcoming Janice Reese as the New FAST Program Manager

We are thrilled to welcome Janice Reese as the new Program Manager for FAST. Janice brings over two decades of experience in healthcare technology, strategic partnerships, and multi-stakeholder engagement, making her a fantastic addition to our community. Her deep expertise in healthcare innovation, standards development, and strategic initiatives aligns perfectly with FAST’s mission to enable the scalability of FHIR solutions.

Janice’s proven track record includes significant contributions to FHIR standards, HL7, and other key industry initiatives. Her leadership will be invaluable as we continue to work alongside the FHIR community and other FHIR Accelerators to create the infrastructure needed to support FHIR’s widespread adoption.

Continuing the Important Work of the FAST Community

The FAST community has made tremendous progress in building the foundation for scalable FHIR solutions that are critical to modernizing healthcare. Our work focuses on creating a standardized and interoperable FHIR infrastructure that enables seamless data exchange across systems, ultimately enhancing patient care and outcomes. This transition marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter as we build on this foundation.

We want to assure all project leads, community members, and stakeholders that this leadership transition will not disrupt daily activities or the ongoing collaborative work. Your existing liaisons and project interactions will continue, and we remain dedicated to our shared goals.

Looking Ahead

Transitions bring both change and opportunity. With Janice’s leadership, we are excited to continue advancing the FAST mission, working closely with the FHIR community and other FHIR Accelerators to create scalable, interoperable solutions that drive the future of healthcare.

Thank you for your continued support, and please join us in welcoming Janice Reese to the FAST community. We look forward to this new chapter and the continued growth and success of our collective work.
