The HIMSS25 Conference, to be held March 3-6 in Las Vegas, will offer numerous opportunities to learn more about the important interoperability work of Health Level Seven International’s Da Vinci Project.
Project members will describe how the HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources, or FHIR, standard can be used to support and integrate value-based care data exchange across communities.
Thanks to participating Da Vinci members AWS, Availity, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Epic, Humana, 1UpHealth, Cognizant, healow and InterSystems, Da Vinci will host a kiosk and five 20-minute thought leadership sessions in the Interop and Smart Pavilion, located in Caesars Forum, Academy Ballroom. Da Vinci also will be presenting three sessions at the HL7 anchor space.
Plus, Da Vinci will be presenting two 60-minute general education sessions.
This year, the HIMSS Conference will be held in three venues. In addition to Caesars Forum, events will take place at the Venetian Convention and Expo Center and Wynn Las Vegas.

General Sessions
Two high-profile general sessions at the massive HIMSS event will feature presenters discussing the latest developments in implementing FHIR.
On March 4 at 2 p.m., a panel will address “HL7 FHIR APIs, Interoperability Progress and the Value of Automation.” This event will be held at Caesars, Academy 406.
Moderated by a provider, this panel of payers that are implementing FHIR will share lessons learned and the promise of scalability, describe the Da Vinci resources available that can help organizations automate their processes, and explain how provider and payer innovators who have not waited for new regulations to take effect are already reaping the benefits of FHIR APIs in their real-world business transformations.
Featured speakers will include Ellen Anderson, enterprise architect principal, HealthMap; Karuna Relwani, business interoperability lead, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association; and Michael Marchant
director, digital applications, Sutter Health.
Another session, “Interoperability Compliance: Clinical Data Exchange and All the FHIR Jazz,” will be held March 6 at 12:45 p.m. in Venetian, Level 2, Venetian F.
This session will provide guidance on how to comply with the Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule (CMS-0057). A former National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and a Da Vinci program manager will discuss the application of the implementation guides referenced in patient, provider, and payer-to-payer APIs.
Presenters are Jocelyn Keegan, vice president, interoperability, Aetna; and Dr. Don Rucker, chief strategy officer, 1upHealth.
