The next Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) Implementation-A-Thon (IAT) is scheduled this September 14-15 in Atlanta, Georgia. It will be held as a track within the HL7 FHIR Connectathon, allowing attendees to optimize participation across CDA and FHIR-related tracks.
The event takes place during HL7's 33rd Annual Plenary and Working Group Meeting (WGM). Those interested in attending should register at the WGM event page. WGMs are popular events, so early registration is encouraged. Early bird discounts end August 24, 2019.
The C-CDA IAT plays an important role in helping reduce inconsistencies in C-CDA implementations across the healthcare industry. The goal is to make C-CDA implementations easier, so participants will work to identify issues and potential trouble spots with implementations . The track also includes collaboration aimed at clarifying C-CDA document creation questions and exploratory sessions designed to bring clarity for less defined or emerging data representation in C-CDA.
Concurrence with the FHIR Connectathon provides C-CDA implementers with the opportunity to test crossover functionality like the FHIR Conversion Challenge (C-CDA to C-CDA on FHIR bidirectional document conversion).
The C-CDA IAT Track will include quarters on C-CDA on FHIR and attachements, data provenance, care plan documents, USCDI (US Core Data for Interoperability) and will cover review of the the evolving ONC Scorecard Rubric. It also includes pre-Connectathon virtual working sessions to introduce each topic and focus participants on getting the most out of their hands-on time.
